    This exceptional Bimber London single malt, single cask release was drawn from an ex-Rye cask and celebrates Tottenham Court Road station. Cask No.421 was bottled in October 2023 and produced only 274 individually numbered, full-sized bottles, at a cask strength of 57.1%. The Spirit of the Underground Series celebrates one of the great engineering projects of the past 200 years. A subterranean labyrinth steeped in history that empowers the true lifeblood of London - its people. Opened in 1900 Tottenham Court Road was situated westbound of the British Museum station until 1933 when the expansion of nearby Holborn station forced its closure. The station has been extensively reconstructed over the last century – most recently as part of the Elizabeth line development which has seen its ticket hall substantially enlarged. The area is famous for its selection of electrical goods shops and commercial activity – everything from the world’s biggest brands to the smallest of knick-knack stores.

    Bimber

    This London based distillery was founded in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since. Gaining local, then national popularity and in 2020, a series of single cask releases specific to various countries abroad. Starting out with a small 2 still set-up, Bimber has recently expanded to meet demand. Additional wooden washbacks were installed in 2019 as well. At the heart of its success is an attention to detail; using malted floor barley and production methods to enhance the flavour of the new make spirit. An intensive cask programme ensures that Bimber works well in a variety of wooden vessels from a young age. Demand means that releases from the distillery are in short supply, with even a small batch range selling out. We can expect more Bimber in 2021 including a new series based on stations within the London Underground network.
