Highland Park Vintage 1973 - Cask Number.11151
Part of a two cask experiment undertaken by Highland Park. This bottling forms one stage of a fascinating journey into the mysterious wonders of malt whisky. In October 1973, two oak sherry casks were filled with new make spirit. Both casks were then left undisturbed - just a few feet apart in the same Highland Park warehouse until being bottled on the 22nd February 2001.
Cask 11151 has a deep golden appearance; the bouquet is smoky with notes of rich sultanas and its thick, velvety texture is matched by a rich full-bodied aromatic and spicy palate.
The other cask (11167) is equally enjoyable but dramatically different. Why?
