Inverleven 27 Years Old 1987 - Cadenhead's

Mention Dumbarton to whisky enthusiasts and they'll think of a grain distillery. However from 1938 until 1991 a malt distillery existed within the same site as Dumbarton. This malt is known as Inverleven and it never released officially until 2010 when Chivas Brothers' included it in their Decoh an Doras series. Before this, we had to rely on independent bottlers such as Cadenheads for whisky from Inverleven.

The stills and equipment were sold to Bruichladdich with the original plan being to establish these as a revived Port Charlotte. Whilst that never took place, one still became famous for sitting outside Bruichladdich distillery. The stills were sold recently to the forthcoming Waterford distillery in Ireland. Soon they'll be refurbished and a part of Inverleven is revived to distill again.

This rare whisky is 27 years of age and cask strength at 53.9% vol from a bourbon hogshead with just 240 bottles in total.
