Bowmore 1980 Single Cask - 2004 with Copper Decanter

A really special bottle from Bowmore. Distilled in August 1980 and matured in a single cask until bottling in July 2004 by the distillery. In the summer of 1980 Bowmore Distillery was honoured by the visit of Queen Elizabeth II. Unfortunately, the planned date for this visit coincided with the 'silent season', a period when distilleries are closed for essential maintenance.

In over two hundred years this was to be by bar the most prestigious visit ever to Bowmore Distillery. For such an auspicious occasion and to fully appreciate the traditional methods of producing Islay's oldest Malt whisky, it was obvious that only the full distillation process would suffice.

This exceptional Malt whisky is the result. Produced from one of only 12 casks filled during this historic and truly remarkable visit of 19th August 1980.

This pot still decanter has been designed by a retired director of a leading company of distillers and is crafted in glass, copper and brass, three traditional elements in the whisky industry.
