Jura 1977 - Juar The Yew Tree

A uniquely crafted 1977 vintage takes its name from the Gaelic word for the yew tree. Translated as 'Juar', its inspiration is drawn from the great number of yew trees which were once abundant on the island.

The yew tree's unique way of growing new trunks from within the original root bole has blessed it with longevity. As such it has long been associated with immortality and regeneration, while some even believe the yew tree brings access to the 'otherworld'.

Filled to cask in 1977, this vintage release was originally matured in three first fill bourbon casks before being finished in ruby port pipes for 12 months.
