Highland Park Hobbister - Keystones Series Part 1

The Hobbister is the first in a five-part range representing the Five Keystones of Highland Park -

Aromatic Peat from Hobbister Moor
Hand Turned Floor Maltings, one of the last remaining in Scotland
Sherry Oak Casks for rich flavour and natural colour
Cool Maturation on Orkney, off the North coast of Scotland
Cask Harmonisation to delivery smoothness

Hobbister is Highland Park's peat moor, lying only 7 short miles from the distillery and overlooks the historic bay of Scapa Flow. Parts of the moor are 9,000 years old and nearly four metres deep in places. The winter months of Orkney are ferocious and 100 miles per hour winds frequently batter the island. The exposed and barren moors offer little cover and so no trees survive in these harsh conditions.

Highland Park hand cut their peat in April, leaving it to dry naturally over the long and bright summer months. Once ready, the aromatic note of Highland Park comes from burning their treeless local peat in ancient kiln fires to dry their malted barley.

This is a particularly limited Highland Park with only 1,200 bottles available.  The bottle was sold out within minutes online.
