Bowmore 42 Years Old 1974 - Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection

This single malt whisky was distilled on 27th May 1974 at Bowmore Distillery. It was filled into a refill sherry hogshead, cask number 4435. It remained in that cask until bottling.

"SHERRIFFS" is viewed as the old style of Bowmore, which is rather more fruity than distillate produced by later owners of the distillery. The whisky is soft mahogany in colour and very full-bodied and fruity. Rich raisins, orange marmalade, and apricots are very evident on the nose and palate. The finish is very long and warming, with fruits and maritime notes, a little smoke at the back with hints of iodine and tobacco.

The whisky was decanted under the supervision of Andrew W. Symington, Managing Director.
