The Borders Distillery Malt & Rye Blended Scotch Whisky 2019

Founded in 2017 by the Three Stills Company, which is comprised of ex-employees of William Grant & Sons, the Borders distillery is set near Hawick and is a Lowland producer. Production didn’t commence until the following year when visitors were also allowed into Scotland’s latest distillery. The buildings date from the 1880s and were previously used by an electrical company prior to converting into a distillery, with many period features retained that makes the still house an impressive sight. The distillation isn’t limited to just whisky, with also vodka and gin also being produced on-site. These have already reached the market, with the owners also launching a blended scotch comprised of sourced whiskies to showcase their skills, while we wait for the unpeated Borders releases.
