It's a real pleasure working with whisky most days, on days when we're presented with something like this, they're special. Bottled in 2012 with only 100 bottles Worldwide, originally a $16,888 retail price, sold out everywhere, this is a bottle few will see, never mind own or drink. One of the most exclusive releases from the distillery, this rare and ultra-premium expression was hand-selected by Master Blender Stephanie McLeod to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of The Royal Brackla distillery in 1812 by Captain William Fraser. Royal Brackla has a long heritage and connection to Royalty, being the first Scotch whisky to be granted a royal warrant in 1833, bestowed by King William IV, a keen sherry drinker and connoisseur according to historic records. The Royal Brackla whisky to be known as ‘the King’s Own Whisky’ and ‘the Drink Divine’. The royal connection continues with the design, which takes inspiration from symbols of royalty: the crown holding the bottle; the orb represented by the sphere of the bottle; and the sceptre, symbolised by the crystal stopper. 49% alc./vol. 700ml Bottled No. 013 of 100.
