Nc'Nean 3 Years Old

Designed as the first fully organic modern distillery in Scotland powered by 100% renewable energy, Nc’nean is one of the new wave of Scottish farm distilleries. It’s about as far away from civilisation as you can get in Scotland, out on the Morvern Peninsula in the Western Highlands. All of their barley is sourced from just 10 organic farms in Scotland. The label is a play on ‘The Birth of Venus.’ Instead of Venus on the shell, we have founder Annabel Thomas riding a white swan. That’s the Drimmin peninsular behind her, and the distillery employees are the cherubs around her. Nc’nean is an abbreviation of Neachneohain, the Gaelic goddess of spirits. The white swan is a respectful nod to the late Dr. Jim Swan who was instrumental in the distillery design, house style, and maturation. This release is from a first fill bourbon barrel. The outturn of this release: Just 356 bottles at  59.8% abv
