Glenturret Distillers Dram

Edition No.1
Lot #1420954
FINISH DATE
22 September 2025
Since 1763, The Glenturret has been shaped by visionary owners and skilled distillers who have passed down their craft through generations. Among them, James Fairlie revived the distillery in 1957, preserving its traditional methods after decades of silence. While processes and ownership may change, the soul of The Glenturret remains in the hands of its people. The Distiller’s Dram Edition No. 1 celebrates two of these individuals: Brian Garriock and Ian Smith, who together have over 50 years of experience, overseeing every step from barley to maturation. Their dedication is woven into every bottle, reflecting our commitment to preserving heritage while embracing evolution. At The Glenturret, we honour the past while crafting a future that stays true to our legacy, one generation at a time.
Glenturret

Glenturret is one of Scotland’s oldest, if not the oldest distillery, founded in 1775 officially under the name of Hosh, by illicit distillers. Unsurprisingly there is a rich history to the site, which is one of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland. By current standards, Glenturret is a very small producer and until recently was used mainly by Edrington as a Famous Grouse attraction, thereby overlooking the single malt. It was never a comfortable fit and came to an end in 2019 when the Lalique Group purchased the distillery. Since then, a new single malt range has been launched in 2020, under the watchful eye of Bob Dalgarno was the Master blender at Macallan. He has taken the maturating stock and crafted a series of whiskies that remind many of Macallan, but at a fraction of the cost. A pleasant surprise to many in 2020, expectations are rising around Glenturret as it seeks to establish a new identity.
