A Single grain Scotch whisky from silent Cambus distillery. Distilled in September 1988, the whisky has been left to age for 27 years before the guys from The Creative Whisky Co. bottled it for their David Rampling Series. This particular single cask bottling 'Sparrowhawk in the early morning sun' features one of Dave Ramplings artwork which is inspired by the raptors he displays at the North Devon Bird of Prey Centre at the Milky Way adventure park.
Cambus
Cambus can trace its roots back to 1806 when it started life as a malt distillery, before switching to grain production in the 1850s. The location of the distillery would become vital as being situated near Alloa, it was in the heart of Scotland and accessible by road, train or boat. A grain whisky of high reputation, single casks are well worth tracking down, but for Cambus its reputation was never going to be enough when corporations began to centralise their grain distilleries. Closing its doors in 1993, the production aspect of the distillery was demolished and instead, Diageo invested millions in transforming the site into its warehousing and cooperage complex that continues to this day.
