Cambus was a grain distillery near Alloa that was closed in 1993, never to return. Fortunately for us, independent bottler Signatory purchased some casks and exclusively bottled this release for The Whisky Exchange. Needless to say it promptly sold out, as it offers the opportunity to experience the distillery with an aged grain whisky from a refill butt.

Cambus
Cambus can trace its roots back to 1806 when it started life as a malt distillery, before switching to grain production in the 1850s. The location of the distillery would become vital as being situated near Alloa, it was in the heart of Scotland and accessible by road, train or boat. A grain whisky of high reputation, single casks are well worth tracking down, but for Cambus its reputation was never going to be enough when corporations began to centralise their grain distilleries. Closing its doors in 1993, the production aspect of the distillery was demolished and instead, Diageo invested millions in transforming the site into its warehousing and cooperage complex that continues to this day.
