Bowmore has introduced “Lovers Transformed”, a remarkable collaboration with renowned graphic artist Frank Quitely, forming part of the imaginative Frank Quitely Series — a collection that reinterprets the ancient myths and legends of Islay. The third chapter in the series is an extraordinary 36-year-old single malt Scotch whisky. Inspired by the tragic story of a forbidden romance between the daughter of a Pictish king and an imprisoned Celtic warrior, this release captures both drama and devotion in liquid form. The whisky was initially matured in American oak hogsheads before being transferred for a further two years into first-fill Pinot Noir wine barriques, enhancing its depth, character, and elegance. Housed in a sophisticated briefcase-style presentation case, the release also features a limited-edition, individually numbered art print of “Lovers Transformed,” personally signed by Frank Quitely. With just 700 bottles and corresponding prints available worldwide, this is a highly limited and collectible expression.
