Bimber The Spirit of the Underground

This exceptional Bimber London single malt, single cask release was drawn from an ex-Fino sherry cask following an additional maturation period and celebrates Stratford station. Cask No.267/16 was bottled in April 2024 and produced only 325 individually numbered, full-sized bottles, at a cask strength of 58.5%. This lot contains a full size bottle and an accompanying 3cl dram. The Spirit of the Underground Series celebrates one of the great engineering projects of the past 200 years. A subterranean labyrinth steeped in history that empowers the true lifeblood of London - its people. Stratford station was opened in June 1839 by Eastern Counties Railways. Central line services commenced in December 1946 extending the line from Liverpool Street station in new tunnels that had been delayed due to the Second World War. The station is located close to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which hosted the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The site hosts a variety of world-class sporting venues, including the London Stadium, London Aquatics Centre and Lee Valley Velodrome.
