Sub £2000: Getting into some beautiful older style, collectable bottles like 18 year olds, 100 proof 10 year olds, the new James Bond Anniversary special editions, some of the Folio Series (5 & 6), Sir Peter Blake, and even some extremely well-aged whisky from independent bottlers like Gordon & MacPhail (G&M). An example would be the Speymalt range.

Sub £5000: A really healthy budget to pick up some fantastic older bottles like the Over 25 Anniversaries, 18 Year old Gran Reserva, some more Folio’s (2, 3 & 4), Coronation & the incredible 30 Year Old.

More than £5000: The sky really is the limit. The World’s most expensive bottle of whisky was a 1926 Macallan Valerio Adami, selling for well over £1Million. Other, more accessible options include the 72 Year Old in Lalique, the 80 Year Old “Reach”, Macallan Red Collection, including 40, 50, 60, 71, 74 and even 78 year old!
