In the third release from the Kylver series, Purisaz means 'The god Thor, giant'. It features artwork from Ian Giles called "Thurisaz in Repose" 2017. Ian Giles is a self-taught artist who has lived in Caithness for 40 years. He has exhibited work throughout the Highlands and has commissions and works in private collections across Scotland.
Influenced by Childhood memories of Ayrshire's "Sleeping Warrior" - the profile of the Isle of Arran on the Clyde Coast, this piece was exclusively commissioned for Wolfburn's Kylver series and is the first in a collection of artworks by local artists.
Wolfburn
Located on the outskirts of Thurso, Wolfburn when it was established in 2013 became the most northerly mainland distillery in Scotland. Taking its name and inspiration from a nearby lost distillery, Wolfburn focuses on an unpeated distillate but in recent times has given up a small percentage of production to a lightly peated variant. Production is small by whisky standards with a single pair of stills being the centre point of the distillery. Despite this, Wolfburn has managed to build a range of core expressions that are well distributed internationally. A variety of single casks and limited edition expressions have also been released as Wolfburn tries to establish its own identity; something that it hasn’t managed to accomplish yet.

How can I bid on the auctions?

Why does the timer extend on a lot?
In the interest of fairness, any bids placed in the final five minutes of a particular lot will extend the end time of that Lot by 15 minutes. We believe in giving our customers a fair amount of time to increase their bid should they wish. Last second sniping isn’t in the spirit of our auctions and by using this system there is no benefit to doing so.

Once at Just Whisky, we’ll handle photography and description of your lots and enter your whisky into our auction. We take payment, then pay you within 14 days of the auction end date.
