Wire Works Small Batch is the third Single Malt Whisky Release from White Peak, following the inaugural first release and the distillery-only over-smoke edition. Using a combination of 80% unpeated and 20% peated English barley, resulting in a phenol level of around 11ppm, a four-day fermentation period used a yeast blend incorporating live yeast sourced from the nearby Thornbridge Brewery.
Spirit was filled into first-fell ex-bourbon, virgin oak, and STR Red Wine casks- all made from either American or French oak - at a variety of ages averaging around 4 years were then selected for the batch, with predominantly STR being used as well as a significant amount of ex-Bourbon. 4323 bottles were released at 46.2% ABV, with no colour or chill filtration taking place.

Situated in the Derwent Valley Mills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the distillery occupies the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works, honoring the region's industrial heritage while pioneering its spirits production. This setting offers not only a historical backdrop but also inspires the distillery's ethos of authenticity and craftsmanship. The distillery is best known for its Wire Works Whisky, which is Derbyshire's first single malt.

How can I bid on the auctions?

Why does the timer extend on a lot?
In the interest of fairness, any bids placed in the final five minutes of a particular lot will extend the end time of that Lot by 15 minutes. We believe in giving our customers a fair amount of time to increase their bid should they wish. Last second sniping isn’t in the spirit of our auctions and by using this system there is no benefit to doing so.
