About this bottle
This cask strength release has been matured in an STR cask #22. STR is a shaved, toasted and re-charred oak cask developed & optimised for spirits maturation. First used for red winematuration these STRs are then taken in for refurb by J. Dies coopers (Porto) a 4th generation family business White Peaks have worked with since 2017. The original American oak heads (or ends) on cask #22 were replaced in French oak, to bring characteristics of both oak types to the whisky.

White Peak Distillery, located in Derbyshire, England, is a craft distillery established in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Max and Claire Vaughan. Situated in the Derwent Valley Mills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the distillery occupies the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works, honoring the region's industrial heritage while pioneering its spirits production. This setting offers not only a historical backdrop but also inspires the distillery's ethos of authenticity and craftsmanship. The distillery is best known for its Wire Works Whisky, which is Derbyshire's first single malt.
