About this bottle
Prologue Release 2.1 was the first ever bottling of lightly peated, single malt spirit from the Derbyshire distillery, White Peak. A limited release of only 560 bottles from a single American STR ex-bourbon cask (2018 #84). The heads were replaced with European oak cask heads. Long fermentation with a unique blend of live, brewer’s yeast combine with slow distillation to create a lightly-peated single malt spirit that’s complex, smooth and fruit forward. For Prologue Release 2.1 the spirit has been matured in cask for 24 months and bottled at natural strength of 50.1% abv.

Situated in the Derwent Valley Mills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the distillery occupies the former Johnson & Nephew Wire Works, honoring the region's industrial heritage while pioneering its spirits production. The distillery is best known for its Wire Works Whisky, which is Derbyshire's first single malt.
