    Torabhaig

It took the Isle of Skye far too long to boast a second distillery after Talisker. It was a difficult road for the distillery, but it represented a dream project for Sir Ian Noble and his family. Sadly, he passed away before he could see the project come online. Torabhaig is on the southern end of Skye, a beautiful spot and started production in 2017. The inaugural bottling debuted in early 2021 and showcased the heavily peated style that the distillery is pursuing, with a further release due in late 2021. There has been an emphasis to provide local employment opportunities and the restoration of the old buildings has been done to a high standard. Tours are recommended and the distillery shop is often the best place to purchase releases that sell out instantly elsewhere.
