Teaninich 11 Years Old 2010

Lot #1190185
FINISH DATE
31 October 2023
Distilled at the Highland distillery Teaninich on the 28th of October 2010 and matured in a Refill Hogshead, then finished for 4 months in a single Pedro Ximenez Quarter Cask .  This was then bottled by the Thompson Bros in May 2022 fort he Dornoch Castle Whisky Bar. Only 152 bottles were bottled, all at a natural cask strength 54.3% ABV.
Teaninich

Today’s version of Teaninich is a modern-looking distillery, which is one of Diageo’s biggest thanks to major investment on the site. Historically, Teaninich has called the town of Alness home since 1817 yet it has remained forever in the shadow of Dalmore which is a short walk away. The changes at the distillery began in earnest in 1970 when a new extension with 6 stills was founded. This led to the use of an A distillery and B distillery to distinguish between both sides. Both fell silent during the harsh times of the early 1980s before the A plant returned to life in 1991 and the B unit was decommissioned. Despite its size and energy efficiency, very little of Teaninch has been released officially as it heads into blends. Thankfully, the independents bottle releases on a frequent basis, which allows us to explore Teaninich’s biggest claim to fame; a hammer mill and mash filter rather than a mill and mash tun.
