Teacher's Highland Cream Wooden Presentation Box

A vintage mid-20th century handcrafted wooden promotional presentation case produced for Teacher's Highland Cream. Expertly made, the case features a hinged front-opening door which reveals the iconic Teacher's branding, a design that was used throughout the 1930s to the 1950s. One of the most fascinating aspects of this piece is the artwork depicting two young boys playing cricket beside a bottle of Teacher's Highland Cream. The illustration was inspired by a genuine photograph published in the Sunday Pictorial in 1926 by a London-based photographer. Following its publication, the boys' mother was reportedly paid £10 per year for the rights to use the image in Teacher's advertising campaigns. Today, this serves as a remarkable piece of whisky advertising history, reflecting a very different era of marketing. The use of children in alcohol advertising would, of course, be prohibited under modern advertising standards, making this an especially interesting historical artefact.
