Tamnavulin Glenlivet naturally ligtht single malt scotch whisky was distilled in June 1968 and filled into oak casks number 2525-2527 for maturation. These casks were stored in the warehouse at the distillery until October 1985, when they were selected for special bottling as The Stillman's Dram. Only 996 bottles have been prepared of which this is Bottle Number 769.

    Tamnavulin

Invergordon Distillers Limited founded Tamnavulin in 1966 on the outskirts of Tomnavoulin in Banffshire to provide content for its blending requirements. And it did this fairly well without too much prominence or fanfare until the parent company was acquired by Whyte & Mackay in 1993, who still own Tamnavulin today. Unfortunately, their plans for the distillery initially were to close it and despite a series of new owners for Whyte & Mackay, the status of Tamnavulin did not change until 2007 when it started production. Still a major provider of blends and supermarket white label products, Tamnavulin has recently enjoyed a handful of single malt releases that sit at the affordable end of the spectrum. Leading these is the solid Double Cask, which marked its 50th anniversary. More likely to impress nowadays are the consistent independent bottlings of the distillery that showcase its merits.
