Distilled at the Speyside distillery Tamdhu on the 19th of November 2003, then matured in a first fill limited edition European oak Sherry Butt (Cask number: 5892) before being bottled in March 2020 as a Special Edition Single Cask release. Tamdhu

Tamdhu is another distillery built upon the crest of the whisky boom of the 1890s. Founded in 1897 by a group of blenders, the distillery has endured periods of closure throughout its history. Most recently in 2009 when the owners at that time (Edrington) did not put much effort into establishing it as a brand. That changed in 2011 when Ian Macleod Distillers purchased Tamdhu and since then we’ve seen a remarkable upswing in its fortunes. The purchase included maturing stock, so Ian Macleod was able to relaunch Tamdhu with a new steampunk visual look and an emphasis on sherry casks. Since this rebranding, sales have grown and a new level of appreciation has formed around this distillery, which is able to produce a sherried whisky as good as anywhere else.
