    Strathmill 25 Years Old

    2014 Cask Strength Limited Edition
    Lot #0300874
    FINISH DATE
    31 May 2016

The Strathmill 25 Year Old marked a historic first for the distillery, making its debut in the prestigious Diageo Special Releases collection in 2014. This rare Speyside single malt was bottled after a full 25 years of maturation, showcasing the distillery’s elegant and refined style at its peak. Bottled at natural cask strength, this limited edition release offers remarkable depth and complexity, with notes of orchard fruits, delicate floral sweetness, and gentle oak spice, all carried by a silky, mature character. With only 2,700 individually numbered bottles released worldwide, this expression is both a collector’s gem and a superb example of long-aged Speyside whisky.

    Strathmill

Speyside is littered with distilleries, several of which only exist to provide content for blends. They are rarely seen in any shape or form and Strathmill is a classic example. Despite being a fairly old distillery, founded in 1891 in Keith, Strathmill did not make its single malt debut until 2001 in the Flora & Fauna series. Very little of it has been seen since, with the independent bottlers offering a sense of what it can do. The style of whisky is light, fresh and an inoffensive example of the Speyside region. This is achieved by the presence of purifiers on the spirit stills. These remove denser compounds and characteristics, thereby creating a whisky that can easily supplement a blend such as J&B Scotch.
