Stauning Curious (50cl)

Stauning Curious is the first, very promising edition of the Research Series from the Danish craft distillery Stauning. Stauning Curious is the new make of Stauning Peated Rye, made from 70% rye (malted!), 30% malted barley and local peat. Curious is made through double distillation in the small pot stills of the distillery, and is an explosion of flavours. It's reminiscent of evenings spent outdoors, the sweet smoke of Mexican cigarillos, the smell of mezcal and the sweetness of Balkan plum eaux-de-vies. Stauning Curious is not “balanced” or “sweet” — it is wonderfully complex and will delight cocktail fans. Drink responsibly, as a substitute for mezcal, peated whisky or vodka. It will add a rare and unique concentration of aromas to cocktails and long drinks.
