28 February 2018
Distilled in 1991 at Speyside and bottled from two bourbon hogsheads by Cadenhead's in 2017 for their Small Batch Range. A well-aged 25-year-old whisky from the Speyside region. One of 624 bottles.
Speyside (Drumguish)

Located on the outskirts of Kinguissie, you’d believe that the Speyside distillery has been here for generations. However, looks are deceiving as it was only founded in 1990. The roots of the distillery go back to 1956 when the land was purchased by George Christie to create a whisky distillery. These things take time and it wasn’t until the tail end of 1990 that the first spirit flowed and the debut whisky, called Drumguish, was bottled. Since then, the whisky has been bottled under the Spey name and has found a home in Taiwan and Asia. Aided by a variety of age statements and inventive cask use, the Speyside distillery is of modest size but is punching above its weight internationally.
