    Speyburn

One of Scotland’s prettiest distilleries, Speyburn is also one of its most overlooked. Speyburn sits just outside the town of Rothes, beyond the Glenrothes distillery in a deep glen that hides much of the site with only the iconic pagoda indicating its purpose. Established in 1897, the distillery fell into the hands of DCL in 1916 and the remainder of its history is fairly uneventful. That is until Inver House Distillers purchased the distillery in 1991 and set about releasing a new range of age statements. More recently, we’ve seen the Arranta and some teenage whiskies reach the market as Thai Beverages seek to raise the profile of a distillery that has remained at the more affordable end of the spectrum. With the distillery being expanded in 2014, we’re guaranteed to be seeing much more from Speyburn in the coming years and hopefully a new era of appreciation.

Last second sniping isn’t in the spirit of our auctions and by using this system there is no benefit to doing so.
