Shackleton's Whisky comes from Neville Peat, the award-winning New Zealand author and environmental journalist whose fascination with Antarctica runs deep. The book follows the remarkable journey of the Scotch whisky that travelled south with Sir Ernest Shackleton on the 1907–1909 Nimrod Expedition — from its original voyage to the ice, to the discovery of bottles still preserved beneath Shackleton's hut more than a hundred years later. Part polar history, part whisky tale, it's a wonderful read for anyone drawn to stories where exploration and Scotch collide.
