Samni-Ittai Pure Malt

An interesting blended malt whisky created by Toashuzo Co. Ltd, the owners of the closed Japanese distillery Hanyu. The blend has been named Sanmi-Ittai, which is the Japanese translation of the Latin word Trinitas. This pays homage to the three founders of Hanyu, one of whom is the grandfather of the Ichiro Akuto; founder of the famous Chichibu distillery. These blended malts have been created using rare Hanyu casks in combination with other single malts which remain undisclosed. The resulting blended malt has been further matured in a single Sherry cask, and bottled at a natural strength of 56.9% ABV. There were 299 bottles produced of this particular batch (number 55009), with each bottle presented with one of three different labels. This bottle has been labeled Yumitori-Shiki, which is the Japanese name for the bow-twirling ritual performed at the end of each day's Sumo tournament. These were bottled exclusively for Jack Tar Holding Ltd.
