Samni-Ittai Pure Malt

An interesting pair of blended malt whiskies created by Toashuzo Co. Ltd, the owners of the closed Japanese distillery Hanyu. The blend has been named Sanmi-Ittai, which is the Japanese translation of the Latin word Trinitas. This pays homage to the three founders of Hanyu, one of whom is the grandfather of the Ichiro Akuto; founder of the famous Chichibu distillery. These blended malts have been created using rare Hanyu casks in combination with other single malts which remain undisclosed. The resulting blended malt has been further matured in a single Sherry cask, and bottled at a natural strength of 57% ABV. There were 296 bottles produced of this particular batch (number 55008), with each bottle presented with one of three different labels. This lot contains two bottles, one named Bushi after female sword-carrying warriors, and the other Kunoichi after female shinobi (ninjas). These were bottled exclusively for Jack Tar Holding Ltd.
