1x Port Dundas 2009 Refill Hogshead cask No.756158, held in bond at Elite Wine & Whisky Ltd. New Bulk Litres: 182.8 Litres New Strength: 59.9% New Litres of Alcohol: 109.5 Litres The cask was filled on the 26/10/2009, it has been maturing in a warehouse at a bonded warehouse by Elite Wine & Whisky Ltd. The cask was re-gauged on the 16/06/2026, following are the results of the re-gauge. Tasting Notes by Angus MacRaild (Whisky Consultant & Author) Nose: Pure, clean, minimalist grain spirit. Some candyfloss, popcorn and delicate note of shoe leather. With water: toasted seeds, white bread and oat milk. Palate: A tad spirituous at first sipping, but followed by some surprising weight and even a sense of menthol and wax, which suggests perhaps some influence from a previous malt whisky fill of the cask? Some sandalwood, pine needle and more light leathery impressions. With water: a little greener, grainier and towards varnish with reduction. Finish: short, bready and sweet. Comments: A clean and interesting grain, certainly with some nicely weighty character on the palate. This would probably benefit from a re-rack into something like a 1st fill barrel or fresh sherry cask. Fees / Other costs to be aware of: Storage Fees – £1.22 per week Cask Insurance - £5.00 per £1,000 value of cask, per year. Regauging - £80+VAT Sample - £50+Duty IMPORTANT: Annual storage fees and any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer. Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Just Whisky. Funds will be held by Just Whisky until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling. Non-UK buyers must appoint a duty representative to act on his/her behalf for transfer of ownership of the cask. The duty representative will need to be registered with HMRC and will normally charge an annual fee for the service. UK revenue trader (business or private individual connected to the trade), will need to be registered with HMRC and hold a WOWGR certificate.
