Pattisons Whisky Water Pitcher

A large (8.5inches tall) water pitcher with Pttisons Whisky branding. The military advertising used is typical of that used by the Pattisons which appealed to the Victorian whisky drinker at the height of the British Empire. Prior to the turn of the 19th into the 20th century Pattisobs Whisky was at the forefront of the boom in Blended Scotch Whisky. However the brothers were partly responsible for the 'bust' years around about the 1900s as they had vastly overvalused their casks and property portfolio. Robert and Walter Pattison were subsequently tried and convicted of fraud and embezzlement. In 1901, Robert was jailed for 18 months, while younger brother Walter served nine months in Perth General Prison. Please refer to images for lot contents & general condition.
