Old Pulteney 8 Years Old

An old collectible bottle of Old Pulteney Highland Malt Scotch Whisky guaranteed 8 years old and specially selected, produced, matured, and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Old Pulteney whisky is produced in the outskirts of Pulteney town, Wick. Both the whisky and the town are named after Sir William Pulteney, a prominent figure and influential M.P. In 1790 William Johnstone Pulteney endowed the first Chair of Agriculture in Britain at Edinburgh University. This bottle has been specially selected to celebrate the Bicentenary of the Chair of Agriculture, University of Edinburgh 1990. The lot includes the book 'Britain's First Chair of Agriculture - At the University of Edinburgh 1790 - 1990', which has a postcard showing an illustration of Sir William Pulteney inside its front cover. Both this postcard and bottle have been signed by Peter McWilson, the 9th Professor of Agriculture and Rural Economy at the University of Edinburgh from 1984 - 1990.
