Nagahama - Yazuka

The Yazuka Burn Amahagan World Blended Whisky is a non-chill filtered release selected by Japanese rock musician Kazuya Yoshii. Produced at Nagahama Distillery and bottled at 47% ABV. This whisky is part of Yoshii's YAZUKA series, launched in 2021. The "BURN" expression was created in collaboration with The Yellow Monkey frontman to complement his music. The production process involved additional charring of barrels used for maturation at Nagahama Distillery. Charring involves burning the interior of barrels to extract woody components and enhance flavor development. This world blended whisky combines spirits from multiple international sources and undergoes post-maturation in the specially charred barrels. The process was designed to create intensity that reflects the collaborative musical inspiration. Nagahama Distillery is located in the Lake Biwa region of Japan and produces this limited series in partnership with the musician.
