About this bottle
Distilled in Loretto, Kentucky, USA at Maker's Mark, this is the first bottling of a new limited annual release from the distillery. The oldest release ever from Maker's Mark who until now hadn't released any expression over 10 years old, blends together 11 and 12 year old bourbon whiskies which have been matured in fresh charred American oak barrels for 6 years in the Maker's Mark warehouse, before being transferred for further maturation to a temperature controlled limestone cellar - this colder environment having a different effect on the whisky's maturation. The result is deeper, richer and more complex; staying true to the Bourbon taste but without the bite. Part of a limited worldwide release of 225 barrels which included only 500 UK bottles, this whisky was bottled at cask strength 57.85% abv.
