    This lot contains the Smooth Arabica single malt from Macallan, which is the second edition of their limited and collectible annual series, The Harmony Collection. The Harmony Collection is derived from the fusion of Macallan's inherent curiosity and principles of innovation and creativity. The Smooth Arabica specifically has been inspired by the Ethiopian Arabica bean. Macallan's official tasting notes are Coffee, Hazelnut, and Vanilla, making this a great whisky for a coffee & whisky pairing experience. It is presented in innovative and distinctive packaging which has been produced sustainably by using coffee bean husks, a by-product of coffee production that would otherwise be discarded. These husks have been skillfully incorporated in not only the production of the box but also the bottle label.

    Macallan

    Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, the Elchies Distillery as it was known initially, did not become the Macallan-Glenlivet in name until 1892. Since then, it has undergone massive expansion with Edrington and William Grant & Sons combining forces in 1999 to purchase Highland Distillers for £601 million. By then, the reputation of the distillery for its sherry-led style of whisky was already firmly in place. The new ownership model has enabled the distillery to produce new ranges, reach out to new demographics and establish itself as an international brand of quality. Bottles are Macallan are increasingly sought after for their commodity value and not the contents, which often are of high quality. Moving to a new distillery site in recent years, will in the long-term, allow Macallan to produce more and if needed, the old distillery sits idle despite being capable of producing 11 million litres before it closed in 2018.

    The first step is to get your whisky to us. We can help with courier collections, or you can arrange transport yourself. Once at Just Whisky, we’ll handle photography and description of your lots and enter your whisky into our auction. We take payment, then pay you within 14 days of the auction end date.
