Distil Your World Paris is a refined expression in The Macallan’s celebrated “Distil Your World” series, capturing the timeless elegance and artistic soul of the French capital in a meticulously crafted single malt. This release is a harmonious composition of flavour and aroma, where delicate notes of patisserie sweetness, vanilla crème, and caramelised sugar intertwine with hints of toasted oak, citrus zest, and gentle spice. Subtle floral undertones evoke blooming Parisian gardens, while a lingering finish of dried fruits and soft cocoa reflects the city’s enduring sophistication. Paris is a city where history and creativity exist in perfect balance—its grand boulevards, intimate cafés, and world-renowned landmarks forming a backdrop to a culture defined by beauty, craftsmanship, and innovation. From the golden glow of the Eiffel Tower to the artistic treasures of the Louvre Museum, the city inspires a way of life that celebrates both heritage and modern refinement. This spirit is brought to life through the collaboration between Euan Kennedy, Lead Whisky Maker at The Macallan, and Joan Roca of the world-renowned El Celler de Can Roca. Together, they embark on a sensory journey through Paris, drawing inspiration from its culinary mastery, artistic legacy, and unmistakable joie de vivre. The result is a whisky that is both expressive and graceful—an ode to Paris itself, where every detail is considered, every moment savoured, and every experience elevated into something truly unforgettable.

    Macallan

Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, the Elchies Distillery as it was known initially, did not become the Macallan-Glenlivet in name until 1892. Since then, it has undergone massive expansion with Edrington and William Grant & Sons combining forces in 1999 to purchase Highland Distillers for £601 million. By then, the reputation of the distillery for its sherry-led style of whisky was already firmly in place. The new ownership model has enabled the distillery to produce new ranges, reach out to new demographics and establish itself as an international brand of quality. Bottles are Macallan are increasingly sought after for their commodity value and not the contents, which often are of high quality. Moving to a new distillery site in recent years, will in the long-term, allow Macallan to produce more and if needed, the old distillery sits idle despite being capable of producing 11 million litres before it closed in 2018.
