Originally, the whiskey was sold under the name of Old Tub and it managed to survive various events including Prohibition, when a mob ripped apart the distillery, leaving the then manager, James Beauregard Beam, with no distillery. Undeterred, he started his own business from a quarry, while waiting for alcohol to become legal once again. Once President Roosevelt signed the 21st Amendment, James regrouped with the help of new business partners and built what we know as Jim Beam today. Fuelled by two distilleries near the town of Clermont, Kentucky. One plays host to the more tourist-side of things and the Booker Noe plant a few miles away, is a replica of the production equipment but on a more industrial scale. They produce some of the biggest selling bourbons in the world and offer a wide range of different brands such as Baker’s, Basil Hayden’s, Booker’s and Knob Creek.
