Jamie Stuart Scotch Antique Jug

Shelley Pottery (1930s)
Lot #1490277
FINISH DATE
20 April 2026
This vintage whisky water jug dates to the 1930s and was made by Shelley Pottery, though it bears the J&G Stewart Ltd. mark rather than the typical Shelley mark. It features shield cartouches reading "Liqueur Jamie Stuart Scotch" with gold gilding on the rim, handle, and foot. These collectable whisky jugs rarely appear on the market, making this piece particularly appealing to specialist collectors of whisky memorabilia. There is a minor rough area on the interior base from the original manufacturing process. Dimensions: 14.5cm high, 12.7cm wide, 13.3cm handle to spout, with a 7cm foot diameter and 7.9cm rim.

Minor chip & hairline crack

Blended Whisky

Blended whisky is an artful marriage of different types of whiskies, typically combining grain whiskies with malt whiskies from various distilleries. This blending process aims to achieve a balance, creating a whisky with a harmonious flavour profile where the strengths of each component are highlighted, while any potential weaknesses are cleverly masked. Blended whiskies offer a consistent taste across batches, making them a favourite for both new whisky drinkers and connoisseurs alike. They can vary widely in style, often providing a smoother, more approachable character than single malts, and are perfect for enjoying neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for a cocktail. Each blend is a unique recipe, often kept secret by master blenders, showcasing their expertise in creating a spirit that's greater than the sum of its parts.
