Ikawa Japanese Single Malt

The Ikawa Distillery Single Malt Dessin Series Fauna 2025 is a peated whisky from Ikawa Distillery in the Southern Alps of Japan. It is the second release in the Dessin series, which showcases different whisky styles produced by the distillery. The whisky is made from malt with phenol levels of 50 ppm and 30 ppm, blended with malt aged in first-fill bourbon barrels. Water used in production is from a local spring with low mineral content. It is bottled at 53% ABV and is non-chill filtered. The label depicts the rock ptarmigan, a bird native to the Southern Alps and protected as a natural treasure. The release is limited to around 6,000 bottles.
