William Grant describes the new brand as an elegant and vivacious new blended Scotch whisky which has been inspired by the Grant family luminary Janet Sheed Roberts (1901 to 2012) and expressed through the spirit of the great Art Deco cities that influenced the world in her heyday.
The House of Hazelwood 21 Year Old expression is has been inspired by the sultry beauty of Mumbai in the 1920s. This release represents a bolder, somewhat spicier and more robust whisky balanced by the ageing of some of its malts for 21 years in sherry casks made of European oak. Presented in a 50cl bottle and bottled at 40% ABV, the House of Hazelwood 21 Year Old has an RRP of £75.
The 21 Year Old is presented in packaging inspired by the sultry beauty of Mumbai in the 1920s. The design focuses on the creation of a distinctive visual leitmotif associated with the luminosity of the city.

The lesser known of the William Grant & Sons Dufftown distilleries, Kininvie sits within the shadow of its more illustrious neighbours of Balvenie and Glenfiddich. Founded in 1990, it is a simplistic and efficient construction that consists of a mash tun, 3 wash and 6 spirit stills with 10 washbacks. Its primary purpose until recently was to support Grant & Son’s blended scotches and the popular Monkey Shoulder range. This all changed in 2006, when its debut single malt was bottled under the name of Hazelwood and there have been several releases under this brand since. However, in 2013, the name Kininvie was used for the first time as a single malt, prompting huge demand outside of Taiwan. Subsequent releases followed in the coming years as everyone wanted to try this new Speyside distillery that was bottling with an array of impressive age statements. A more experimental range was released in 2019, showcasing the different elements that the distillery can deliver including triple distillation, different mash bills and cask maturation.
