The Highland Park Valhalla Collection is a four-bottle whisky series released between 2012 and 2015, inspired by powerful figures from Norse mythology. This special edition is housed in a large wooden display plinth designed to resemble a Viking longboat, symbolising the seafaring legacy of the Norse people. Crafted with carved dragon-head detail and sweeping curves reminiscent of traditional drakkar ships, the plinth unites the bottles as a complete set. - Highland Park Thor 16 Year Old, 52.1% ABV, 23,000 bottles. This first edition was made in honour of Thor, the Norse God of Thunder and supposed creator of the Cliffs of Yesnaby on Orkney's west coast. - Highland Park Loki 15 Year Old, 48.7% ABV, 21,000 bottles. For the 2nd release in the acclaimed Valhalla Collection, Highland Park has turned its attention to Loki, one of the most complex characters in Norse mythology, constantly challenging the gods, questioning their order and hierarchy within Asgard. Like its namesake, this whisky is unpredictable and impulsive, echoing the formidable weather of the Orkney Islands. - Highland Park Freya 15 Year Old, 51.2% ABV, 19,000 bottles. For the 3rd release in the acclaimed Valhalla Collection, Highland Park has turned its attention to the mesmerising Norse Goddess of Love, Freya. Continuing the tradition of reflecting the character and qualities of the Norse Gods in the whisky itself, Freya’s intriguing allure and feisty personality have inspired a full, rich and complex single malt with a lingering, beguiling finish. - Highland Park Odin 16 Year Old, 55.8% ABV, 17,000 bottles. The 4th and final release in the Valhalla Collection from Highland Park. Odin, Allfather of the Norse Gods and ruler of Asgard, Odin possesses an intensely complex character. Often known as 'The Furious One', not only is he fierce and furious in battle and feared more than any other Gods, but he is also driven by an unquenchable thirst for wisdom.

    Highland Park

The Macallan might be the jewel in the crown of Edrington, but a close second is Highland Park, especially after the brand investment, it has received in recent times. Established in 1798 by David Robertson on the outskirts on Kirkwall on Orkney, history suggests the site was used for illicit distillery way before this official date. In a landscape shaped by nature, ravaged by Vikings and the tides of war, Highland Park manages to bring everything together. A historical whisky that is universally appreciated, offering a little bit of something and famously called an ‘all rounder’, from locally sourced peat to a welcoming rugged characteristic. Highland Park doesn’t need the branding to stand out from the crowd. An increasingly varied core range can seem bewildering to someone new, so start with the 18 year old and being your voyage.
