    Hazelburn is a triple distilled, non-peated single malt whisky produced at Springbank Distillery. The vibrant and fruity Hazelburn spirit was filled into the finest oak casks and laid down to mature in their traditional Campbeltown warehouses for twenty-one years before being considered and selected for this elegant single malt. As usual, Springbank mix up the cask type used for each annual release. The 2023 cask make-up is 80% Bourbon, 10% Sherry, 10% Port.

    Springbank (Hazelburn)

    Today, Hazelburn is a triple-distilled distillate produced at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown. Its name is a homage to the original Hazelburn distillery that once stood in the town. The roots of triple distillation go back to Ireland (not too far from Campbeltown) and showcase how old the original Hazelburn was. Established in 1796, it stood in the Longrow South area of the town, before moving in 1840 to a large site near Glengyle road. By this time, it was Campbeltown’s largest distillery, equipped with its largest stills (no mean feat given how many competitors there were) and it was highly regarded for its whisky. Sadly, like so many Campbeltown distilleries it closed its doors in the 1920s, although some of the distillery buildings still stand. You can celebrate its legacy with a bottle of the lovely 10 year old produced by Springbank, who also release Hazelburn in a variety of editions.

    The first step is to get your whisky to us. We can help with courier collections, or you can arrange transport yourself. Once at Just Whisky, we’ll handle photography and description of your lots and enter your whisky into our auction. We take payment, then pay you within 14 days of the auction end date.
