    Glenturret 10 Years Old

    Dunfermline FC 'Lockdown'
    Lot #1330437
    FINISH DATE
    17 December 2024

A special bottle of Glenturret 10 Years Old bottled for the mighty Pars (Dunfermline FC), with only 75 bottles produced. This was bottled to commemorate the Lockdown in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic- The 2019/20 season was unexpectedly cut short due to the worldwide spread of COVID-19 or coronavirus forcing all sporting events to be suspended indefinitely until the virus had passed. This would create problems, and worry, for small clubs such as Dunfermline FC who rely on regular income from match days.  This special edition whisky was created to ease the burden on the club and give fans something to enjoy during the extended close season.

    Glenturret

Glenturret is one of Scotland’s oldest, if not the oldest distillery, founded in 1775 officially under the name of Hosh, by illicit distillers. Unsurprisingly there is a rich history to the site, which is one of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland. By current standards, Glenturret is a very small producer and until recently was used mainly by Edrington as a Famous Grouse attraction, thereby overlooking the single malt. It was never a comfortable fit and came to an end in 2019 when the Lalique Group purchased the distillery. Since then, a new single malt range has been launched in 2020, under the watchful eye of Bob Dalgarno was the Master blender at Macallan. He has taken the maturating stock and crafted a series of whiskies that remind many of Macallan, but at a fraction of the cost. A pleasant surprise to many in 2020, expectations are rising around Glenturret as it seeks to establish a new identity.
