Distilled at the Speyside distillery called Glentauchers in 2008, then matured for 16 years in a single Hogshead cask before being bottled at cask strength by Cadenhead's for their Warehouse Tasting range.

    Glentauchers

Now owned by Pernod Ricard, Glentauchers began life in 1897 as the project of 2 major blenders of the period; James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie. Intent on establishing their own Speyside distillery for blending stock, it wasn’t too long until James, flush with the success of the Black & White blend, took over the distillery and acquired a major stake in the Lowrie firm. By the 1920s the distillery was in the hands of DCL, who would later become Diageo, and like many distilleries during the heady 1960s, production was increased and the floor maltings closed. We’re fortunate that Glentauchers remains in existence as it was closed in 1985, before being sold on and production revived in 1992. Since then, Glentauchers has been noted for its role in the Ballantine’s blend and in 2017 was released as a 15 year old single malt. It maintains a cult-like presence amongst independent bottlers, with vibrant fruits, nuts and honey; a classic Speysider.
