Glenrothes John Ramsay Legacy

A truly special and heartfelt tribute to Malt Master John Ramsay. After 43 years of making Scotch John hung up his lab coat to bid farewell, however, before doing so he chose one last bottle the "John Ramsay Legacy". He requested samples from 49 different casks then narrowed down his selection to 14 hogsheads and six butts. John wanted the perfect balance of flavours and eventually chose casks from 1973, 1978, 1979, 1982, 1985, 1986 and 1987. The many years of maturation resulted in a significant loss, approx. 45% of the total spirit to evaporation (the angels only chose to take from the best casks). After finding the perfect balance of flavours it was bottled at 46.7% with a very limited outturn of only 1400 bottles.  Each bottle is encased in a soft lined wooden open display presentation box with a small leather bound book within a small drawer sitting under the bottle. The book is the story of how this bottle came about and the process in which John took.
