    Glenmorangie Finealta

    2nd Private Edition
    Lot #0310556
    FINISH DATE
    30 June 2016

The second in Glenmorangie's series of Private Editions (the first being the hugely popular Sonnalta), Finealta has sparked interest in that some lightly peated barley has been used in its creation. The name is Gaelic for 'Elegance'. The Finealta has been part-matured in ex-sherry and plain new American oak casks.

    Glenmorangie

Situated on the outskirts of Tain in Ross-shire, Glenmorangie has enjoyed rapid success in recent times thanks to the patronage of Moet Hennessy, who acquired the distillery in 2004 for a sum of £300 million from the MacDonald family. Since then, there have been dramatic changes at the distillery and a makeover in terms of appearance including a new modern still house to expand capacity and a refreshing of the range. The new still building also includes fermentation and mashing, which raises the prospect of experimentation, or even a new mini-distillery under a different name. Led by Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie has pursued a range of cask finishes and no age statements to great success. The classic expression remains the 10 year old, but you’ll also see a variety of special editions and single casks. With the recent improvements, we can expect more from Glenmorangie in the coming years.
