Glenmorangie A Tale Of Tokyo

Mizunara, Bourbon & Sherry Casks
Lot #1420332
FINISH DATE

Double gold winner at the San Fransisco World Spirits Competition 2023 A Tale of Tokyo is the latest release in the "Tale Of" series from Glenmorangie. Combining bright, bold flavours with soft sweetness, Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky as full of delicious sensory contrasts as Tokyo itself. Inspired to capture his experience of Tokyo’s many sensory dimensions and to experiment with rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks for the first time, Dr Bill (Lumsden) united Glenmorangie part-aged in Mizunara oak with whisky that had spent time in both sherry and bourbon casks, for a unique limited-edition that’s perfectly balanced with Glenmorangie’s house-style.
Glenmorangie

Situated on the outskirts of Tain in Ross-shire, Glenmorangie has enjoyed rapid success in recent times thanks to the patronage of Moet Hennessy, who acquired the distillery in 2004 for a sum of £300 million from the MacDonald family. Since then, there have been dramatic changes at the distillery and a makeover in terms of appearance including a new modern still house to expand capacity and a refreshing of the range. The new still building also includes fermentation and mashing, which raises the prospect of experimentation, or even a new mini-distillery under a different name. Led by Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie has pursued a range of cask finishes and no age statements to great success. The classic expression remains the 10 year old, but you’ll also see a variety of special editions and single casks. With the recent improvements, we can expect more from Glenmorangie in the coming years.
